gratitude

03Mar12

Last night as I fell asleep, I went over the things for which I’m grateful. I try to do this as often as I can. It’s a good exercise; being actively thankful, I don’t take things for granted. Here’s what I’ve got right now, off the top of my head.

  • My kids, their health, (and, may they always have good health.)
  • My health. My ability to heal.
  • My family, my friends, my support system. Truly, I could not live without them.
  • A roof over my head, my job, my ex’s job, and the support I get.
  • My first-world problems. (As opposed to others with way more serious issues.)
  • The wonderful experiences I have, for they bring me joy.
  • The tougher experiences I’ve had, for what I learn from them.
  • My memories of loved ones who’ve passed. The experiences I had with them.
  • Nature, her bounty and wonder.
  • Music of all kinds.
  • Time to think.
  • Technology, for making my life easier, and enabling me to keep in touch.
  • My grandma, bless her heart. She’s 92, and still feisty.
  • Things; although not the most important, what I now have makes me smile.
  • My gifts; both my uniqueness and my similarities to others.
  • The privilege of being a mother.
  • Life itself.

I like this exercise. I am truly blessed.
