gratitude
03Mar12
Last night as I fell asleep, I went over the things for which I’m grateful. I try to do this as often as I can. It’s a good exercise; being actively thankful, I don’t take things for granted. Here’s what I’ve got right now, off the top of my head.
- My kids, their health, (and, may they always have good health.)
- My health. My ability to heal.
- My family, my friends, my support system. Truly, I could not live without them.
- A roof over my head, my job, my ex’s job, and the support I get.
- My first-world problems. (As opposed to others with way more serious issues.)
- The wonderful experiences I have, for they bring me joy.
- The tougher experiences I’ve had, for what I learn from them.
- My memories of loved ones who’ve passed. The experiences I had with them.
- Nature, her bounty and wonder.
- Music of all kinds.
- Time to think.
- Technology, for making my life easier, and enabling me to keep in touch.
- My grandma, bless her heart. She’s 92, and still feisty.
- Things; although not the most important, what I now have makes me smile.
- My gifts; both my uniqueness and my similarities to others.
- The privilege of being a mother.
- Life itself.
I like this exercise. I am truly blessed.
